Dr. Lisa Blackwood is a board certified Dermatologist who will be joining Skn Dermatology in November 2024. She has been practicing dermatology in the Denver area since 2018. She specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology with a special interest in complex medical dermatology.

After completing her undergraduate degree in biology and French at Tufts University and receiving a Masters in Neuroscience at Tulane University, Dr. Blackwood received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, where she graduated with top honors as a member of AOA. She completed her internship in internal medicine and her dermatology residency training at University of Illinois at Chicago, where she served as chief resident in her final year.

As a New Orleans native, Dr. Blackwood embraces the vibrant culture she grew up in that welcomes diversity, open-mindedness, and joyous hospitality. She prides herself in creating a safe and welcoming environment where patients feel like they are being treated like family.

What Dr. Blackwood enjoys most about dermatology is the ability to connect with the patient in order to create a meaningful relationship and individualized treatment plan that will make a visible impact on each individual’s overall health.

She is fascinated with how the skin can reveal manifestations of internal disease and how each individual’s skin is unique, creating a challenge that she is eager to accept.

In addition to early detection and treatment of skin cancer as well as the treatment of autoimmune, inflammatory, and infectious skin conditions, Dr. Blackwood also finds joy in helping patients maintain a healthy, vibrant appearance with the use of cosmetic procedures, such as botox and fillers.

Outside of work, Dr. Blackwood enjoys a beautifully chaotic life with her trauma surgeon husband, three children, two dogs, and two cats. She is an animal lover, food lover, and outdoor enthusiast. She loves hiking, skiing, baking, and creating art masterpieces with her children.
