Molluscum Contagiosum
Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin infection that affects children, causing small, raised, pearl-like bumps on the skin. These bumps can appear anywhere on the body and may become itchy or inflamed if scratched. Molluscum contagiosum is spread through direct contact with the infected skin or contaminated objects. While the condition is usually self-limiting and resolves on its own, treatment options such as cryotherapy, curettage, or topical therapies may be used to speed up resolution and prevent spreading, especially in cases where the bumps are numerous or persistent.
